Heavy situations, handled with care
We approach every hoarding cleanout knowing there is a person behind the piles, and usually a worried family too. This is not a regular junk job and we never treat it like one. The crew works with patience and zero judgment, and when conditions call for it we suit up in full hazmat gear and respirators to keep everyone safe. Bigger homes get multiple crews and trucks so the hard day ends sooner.
We have worked alongside social workers, family members and mental health professionals on many of these jobs, including years of work for MHA of Rockland. Experience has taught us it is usually best for the resident not to be present during the cleanout. If they are, we ask that a social worker or family member be there with them.
Anything of value we find, documents, photos, jewelry, cash, gets set aside and handed back to you or the family. The goal is a safe, livable home again, reached as gently as possible.
